There are EU regulations that make it safer for consumers and impose requirements on you as a manufacturer, importer, or seller of equipment with radio components.

The EU imposes requirements on certain products before they can be placed on the market. For instance, products must meet technical requirements, ensuring that those with radio components do not interfere with other important radio usage. There are also administrative requirements, such as labeling, providing information, and documentation. Products that meet EU requirements are allowed to bear the CE marking.

PTS is one of several authorities responsible for ensuring that products placed on the market in Sweden meet these requirements. This work is known as market surveillance.
