Broadband strategy

The government has produced a new broadband strategy - for a completely connected Sweden by 2025.

The government’s new broadband strategy has been published, with clearly defined goals for all citizens and companies in Sweden. The most important goals in the strategy are the following:

  • By 2020, 95 percent of all households and companies should have access to broadband at a minimum capacity of 100 Mbit/s.
  • By 2023, all of Sweden should have access to reliable high-quality mobile services.
  • By 2025, all of Sweden should have access to high-speed broadband.

The government's definition of the goal that ”all of Sweden should have access to fast broadband” by 2025 is described thus:

  • 98 percent of all households and companies should have access to 1 Gbit/s
  • 1.9 percent of all households and companies should have access to 100 Mbit/s
  • 0.1 percent of all households and companies should have access to 30 Mbit/s
